2007 Children’s Miracle Network Classic

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Tickets for the 2007 Children’s Miracle Network Classic presented by Wal-mart are on sale now — including the return of an offering that provides a feast for the palate as well as the golf appetite, and a badge that provides economical week-long admission.

The tournament will be played Nov. 1-4 on Disney’s Magnolia and Palm courses, with practice rounds Oct. 29-31 on the same Walt Disney World Resort layouts.

After a successful debut last year, the Ruth’s Chris Fairway Club returns this year, offering patrons unlimited food and beverage from a special Ruth’s Chris menu. There will be three Ruth’s Chris Fairway Club locations on the Magnolia course during all four tournament days and a location on the Palm course Thursday and Friday. A pass good any one day is $75, and a pass good for two days is $150.

Also back is the money-saving weekly badge which provides admission to the general grounds during all four tournament days and during practice rounds. The cost is $50. A single-day ticket for a tournament round costs $30, while a single-day ticket on practice days costs $10.

All tickets can be purchased online at childrensmiraclenetworkclassic.com. Guests can call the Children’s Miracle Network Classic hotline at 407/824-2250 for more information.

The 2007 Children’s Miracle Network Classic marks a continuation of the longest-running PGA TOUR event in Central Florida. It is part of the new PGA TOUR Fall Series and is the last event on the 2007 PGA TOUR schedule. The tournament’s outcome will determine the final standings on the PGA TOUR official money list. Joe Durant won the 2006 Classic, which offered an event record purse of $4.6 million.

The Children’s Miracle Network Classic is part of Disney’s Wide World of Sports, which includes championship golf courses, bass fishing, the Richard Petty Driving Experience and a host of other sports and recreational activities. The centerpiece is Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex, a 220-acre campus that is the leading venue for amateur and professional sports in the world with more than 180 events annually involving more than 30 different sports.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

Animal Kingdom Lodge - will partialy close to guests from July 9 until September 1, 2007. (subject to change.)

Official statement released by the Disney Vacation Club
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas opened to Disney Vacation Club Members July 2, 2007. We are pleased that our Members are happy with the new accommodations. There is construction occurring at the resort to complete the conversion of the fifth and sixth floors to Vacation Homes.

In an effort to accelerate the construction timeline and potentially complete this effort earlier than planned, portions of the resort will be temporarily closing. As a result of the accelerated timeline, we are working with Guests who have existing Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge reservations to assist them in selecting alternate accommodations for their upcoming visit. This does NOT affect all Guests staying at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Disney is calling the effected guests who are currently booked at Animal Kingdom Lodge (If you booked through a travel agency, your travel agent will receive the call) in chronological order to assist them with moving to another resort. Guests have been offered rooms at various Disney Deluxe resorts for the same price they were paying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Each case is handled differently, based on the room type booked and availability at other resorts for the dates in question.

Some of the new Disney Vacation Club units are open and will remain in use.The restaurants are expected to remain open with regular hours.

Mickey Mouse arm, glove and wand at Epcot .

The 257-foot-tall Mickey Mouse arm, glove and wand logo structure at Epcot is coming down. The structure leans on Epcot’s previous and future iconic figure, the Spaceship Earth Pavilion, a180-foot geodesic sphere that can be seen for miles.

Epcot Vice President Jim MacPhee announced the removal of the structure, which has served both as a colorful, lighted Epcot sign since 2000, and as a lightning rod for criticism from Epcot purists who contended the image was out of character for Epcot’s architecture. Now, with Epcot’s 25th anniversary this fall, and the temporary closing of Spaceship Earth ride, MacPhee said, “We think the timing of the removal is right.”

Deconstruction of the 50-ton structure begins Monday July 9, 2007, and will be completed shortly before the park’s 25th anniversary, October 1. Also coming down are the 36-foot-high “Epcot” letters and colored stars splashing across the sphere.

Also Monday, the Spaceship Earth ride will close for refurbishment. The work should be done by November,
