Disney Cruise Line® is celebrating the Disney Magic®’s early exit from a planned September dry dock with today’s addition of a special, three-night sailing to begin on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. The previously scheduled, 3-week dry dock has been shortened by 3 days, thus allowing for the new sailing. Several things make this sailing attractive.
Freshly Dried Magic
Repeat cruisers know that there is no better time to enjoy a cruise ship than right after a dry dock. As a result, one of the most popular sailings of 2008 has been the September 27 sailing of the Disney Magic, originally scheduled to be the first sailing of the newly spiffed-up ship. But now you can beat those folks to the gun and gain bragging rights by signing on to the special, 3-night sailing announced today! Be the first to experience the enhancements and refurbishments that will result from the Disney Magic’s longest dry dock ever! During the last dry dock a Jumbotron and a miniature water park were added to the Disney Magic. Who knows what they will add this time!
A “Charming” 3-Night Cruise
It has been years since the Disney Magic has done a 3-night itinerary, so this is really a rare opportunity. The September 24, 2008 itinerary will include a special performance of the musical “Twice Charmed,” an original production developed exclusively for Disney Cruise Line’s 7-night sailings. So take advantage of your chance to see this twist on the Cinderella story that at present can only be seen on the Disney Magic. “The Golden Mickeys” and “Disney Dreams” will also be performed.
Since it just opened for booking this sailing is totally empty. The best rooms and dining times are still available.
On March 27, 2008, the Department of State and Department of Homeland Security announced their final ruling for the land and sea portion of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) regarding the proof of citizenship requirements for U.S. citizens.
As a result, effective June 1, 2009, U.S. citizens on closed-loop cruises (cruises that begin and end at the same port) will be able to present one of the following as proof of U.S. citizenship (this applies to all Disney Cruise Line® itineraries in 2009):
A valid, unexpired U.S. passport
~ Original state issued Birth Certificate. (In addition, Guests 18 years of age and older must present a photo ID issued by a Local, State or Federal Government agency.)
~ Original Certificate of Naturalization. (In addition, Guests 18 years of age and older must present a photo ID issued by a Local, State or Federal Government agency.)
~ Original Certificate of Citizenship. (In addition, Guests 18 years of age and older must present a photo ID issued by a Local, State or Federal Government agency.)
~ Original Consular Report of Birth Abroad for a U.S. Citizen. (In addition, Guests 18 years of age or older must present a photo ID issued by a Local, State or Federal Government agency.)
Disney Cruise Line and all other cruise lines strongly encourage Guests of all ages to have a valid U.S. passport for all cruises. As a reminder, people (including citizens of the U.S.) traveling by air between the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda are required to present a valid passport. So keep in mind if you have an emergency and have to fly home from a port you cannot re-enter the US without a passport.
The eatery will feature authentic Central and South American cuisine, specialty tequilas, premium wines and live music. he 5,000-square-foot, two-story facility will have a tequila bar and outdoor seating along Village Lake. The new restaurant does not currently have a name. However, E-Brands is the name of the restaurant group that is coming. They are currently the operator of Epcot’s Morocco Pavilion
